What do I do with my ELL?
Your main goal should be to make what and how you teach COMPREHENSIBLE!
Most of the time, you are already doing this. BUT, with a little awareness, some additions to your existing lesson plan, and some alterations, you can make your GENERAL lesson plan more understandable and your lessons more effective for all of your students, and especially your ELLs.
Below you will find sites and strategies that will help you make what you are teaching more accessible to your Engllish Language Learners. The list includes standards for ELLs, books about ELL and how they learn, teaching approaches that are exellent for making your teaching more comprehensible, and sites that are specifically designed for teachers with ELLs in the classroom.

Standards that affect ELLs and YOU!Alabama is a member of the WIDA Consortium. That means we agree with the standards put forth by Worldclass Instructional Design and Assessment for English Language proficiency. They set the standards and produce the assessment by which we measure our students' English proficiency. You can view the standards at: http://www.wida.us/standards/eld.aspx
